How to make rice bubble cake and have everyone love you.
Because otherwise I will forget it again and I am very bad at finding things in Edmonds, here is my mother's rice bubble cake recipe:
125g butter
8 tbsp brown sugar
1 dsp honey
1 dsp golden syrup
1/2 tsp salt
6 cups rice bubbles
Dump everything except the rice bubbles into a pot, and bring to the boil while stirring. Then simmer on v. low for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally so the butter doesn't separate.
Put in rice bubbles 1 cup at a time, mixing between cups Then empty everything into a pre-greased dish. Ours is about 20cm square.
Cut up the rice bubble cake while it is still soft, unless you can cut it up without breaking it into a million pieces.
Share it with all your friends.
If I even try to use a different recipe, such as one using white sugar, then I burn it and it is bitter and horrible. Although people may still eat it, such is the power of rice bubble cake.
