Criminal Minds eps 2.19 & 2.21
You know what's annoying? Trying to pay your bloody uni fees and, for no reason at all, the credit card transaction won't go through. Grr.
Criminal Minds tonight. Oh no, I just looked up the episode guide and only two left this season! However am I to fill my Thursday nights now?
Episode 2.21 - Open Season
Out in the woods, people hunting! They like to play like they're a horror movie, yes? Except they actually manage something like horror. I think the movie I saw about headhunters they were also cannibals, and thus it was hilarious.
This: not so hilarious, except maybe when the girl dropped down out of the tree. And didn't actually land right on top of the hunter. I am all up for the prey turning it around.
It was strangely touching seeing Gideon with the younger brother. I could feel myself getting a little teary. Gideon was being a sweetie, but I suppose the boy was terribly disturbed. How else do you grow up to see hunting people as a fun pastime?
If you grow up to be a BAU agent, that's how! Emily, she gets a bit deep at the end of the episode.
And I am just a little bit incoherent tonight.
I'd also wanted to talk about:
Episode 2.19 - Ashes and Dust
Because I found it so affecting. It made me cry. I don't know if it would normally have made me cry, or if that was tied up with sleep deprivation after my field trip. I found the resolution immensely creepy.
I am afraid I am the person at the start who, instead of being all piteous, oh no, poor family, they are in a fire and can't get out, is like, why don't they have a smoke alarm (the arsonist broke it)? Why don't they just climb out the window? Why don't they call 911 (the phone's down)? Why don't they have cell phones (god, Cara, you're supposed to concentrate on getting out, not calling the fire brigade)?
I was more sympathetic at the end, when the LUST guy was confronting Mr I Like to Set Houses On Fire and Watch the Families Die. But then, he knew what he was doing. It wasn't random death, it was death with a purpose! An awesome, environmental, I'm doomed anyway so I'm going to make a bloody statement purpose!
And then I cried.
That was a good episode.
My computer is kicking me off now, night night.
